Michael W. Garvey

Michael Garvey is a partner at Pearne & Gordon LLP. He has experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the electrical, mechanical, and electro-mechanical arts.

He advises clients on patentability and infringement concerns and assists clients in managing their patent portfolios to make efficient allocation of resources.

Michael also advises clients on trademark selection and trademark disputes. He also files and prosecutes trademark applications including handling trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings.

Prior to entering the practice of law, Michael was an engineer at Newport News Shipbuilding where he was involved in nuclear propulsion plant electrical component design and acquisition and power distribution system design.

Michael is co-chair of the All-Ohio Annual Institute on Intellectual Property and past President and Secretary of the Cleveland Intellectual Property Law Association. He is also a member of the International Trademark Association.
